   Although as soon as this administration does something to act on it…the Democrats start whining about it being a political stunt to pull attention away from the Democratic National Convention.

   However if nothing was said and the terror alert wasnt hightened, the Democrats would start to cry about how this administration is leaving the country open to an attack.

   Damned if you do, Damned it you dont.

   On another note: it is nice to see that the democrats have started their usual campaign to appeal to the “less-fortunate” before the fall elections.

   Payroll taxes, as you know, are basically Social Security and Medicare taxes. The Democrats have almost achieved their goal of shielding the so-called “less-fortunate” from any income tax liability at all. But these people still have to pay Social Security and Medicare taxes. Democrats are able to ignore the fact that these same people will get full Social Security and Medicare benefits when they reach the magic age

   The idea is to “lift the tax burden off the less fortunate” by eliminating payroll taxes on the first $15,000 of income. Here’s how you do it. The Democrats pass a law which says that nobody has to pay any payroll taxes on the first $15,000 of their income. There you go, the poor now have a completely free ride! They are now life-long, dedicated Democratic voters.

   By the way, did you catch my use of the phrase “less fortunate” a bit ago?

   To imply that one person is homeless, destitute, dirty, drunk, spaced out on drugs, unemployable, and generally miserable because he is “less fortunate” is to imply that a successful person – one with a job, a home and a future is in that position because he or she was “fortunate”, or LUCKY.

   The dictionary says that fortunate means “having derived good from an unexpected place.” There is nothing unexpected about deriving good from hard work. There is also nothing unexpected about deriving misery from choosing drugs, alcohol, and the street instead of education and personal responsibility.

   If the Left can create the common perception that success and failure are simple matters of “fortune” or “luck,” then it is easy to promote and justify their various income redistribution schemes. After all, its just evening out the odds a little bit, isnt it?

   What an insult this is to the man or woman who works that 60 hour week to provide for a family. But hey…it works out nice for the low-lifes in this country.

   To say that the democratic party mainly represents only the views of criminals and drug addicts is kind of like saying the republican party is full of white-supremacists. Both statements are probably true but only in the extreme case – not the typical one.

   Personally, I’d like to see us get away from political parties altogether. I think too often people vote based solely along party lines without taking the time to understand the issues their representatives support.

   If we didn’t have parties voters would be forced to defend their support of a particular candidate based on that candidate’s position on issues rather than saying “I support Bill because the democratic party wants to improve our schools” or “I support Regan because the republicans want to strengthen defense”.

   In my perfect world there would be no political parties and voters wouldn’t be allowed to hide their ignorance on issues behind their support for a party’s ideology. Ideally we’d live in a society where candidates were judged individually based on their belief system and their record, instead of heaped into one pile or the other.

   I believe too many people don’t think about the issues that affect them and how their vote affects their life, but instead get away with simply identifying with an ideology. Handing over one’s right to vote (and think) to an ideology is a pretty frightening (and lazy) thing to do. It’s what the Germans did for Hitler and that didn’t seem to work out so well.

   Lest everyone thinks I’m a jerk my comments weren’t directed at Mark, but were just my general opinion of how the majority of American’s decide who to vote for.
