I wasnt going to post a comment because I thought we agreed not to discuss world problems anymore, but since ou brought me into it...here it is.

You can say what you want there you tree hugging liberal. But did you know that where you are up in Seattle you are considered wealthy? Part of the upper class. Why you may ask...simple because you drink coffee. You see Seattle recently tried to impose a special tax(Initiative 77) on luxury items such as Lattes to help fund the otherwise useless programs they give to the "less-fortunate". That would be those who are not as "Lucky" as you, simply because they choose not too work. (I say Lucky because to use the term "Less-Fortunate" implies that you are "More-Fortunate" to have what you have. Not hard working and talented, just "More-Fortunate")

Anyway.....The concept is simple: apply a small tax on a luxury item consumed by a wealthy demographic and use the proceeds to fund another program. Initiative 77 would have added a $.10 tax on each shot of espresso sold in Seattle and used the proceeds for child care and preschool programs. (Even though you dont have children you have to pay for other people's children.) Geez, I hope you and Amanda dont get the double shot on Sundays, that would make you "REAL LUCKY."

Kind of like the Federal Excise Tax on your phone bill. Put in place by the democrats to fund the Spanish-American war. I thought that war was over. Oh well, I guess Coach Davidson at Clarkston High School was wrong. Cause im still paying for that war.

Oh and about Initiative 77, well in the end it failed. Most people in Seattle who work hard for their money and want to supprot their OWN families, figured they might as well keep as much of their paycheck as they can, instead of giving more of it to those that are not as "Lucky" as they are.

ps. I am white (I cant dance a lick), im NOT rich (cause there are still those out there not as lucky as am, so i must work as hard as i can to fill up their outstretched hands), but it still pisses me off that the ATM machine in America asks me if I want to proceed in SPANGLISH.
