Who listens to this stuff?

I saw on FactCheck.org that the Republican group Progress for America aired a television ad “Get Ready” on June 22 which aims to silence the liberal critics of President Bush’s Supreme Court nominee. So hearing that a pro-Bush group is throwing large sums of money at TV to fight with the liberals is nothing new, but, um, who are the arguing with? More to the point, shouldn’t the political ads come after the Supreme Court has a vacancy and maybe even after the President has made his nomination.
